One Christ

Fifty stout warriors clad in mail.
all wielding spears, waiting to prevail.
One hundred horsemen riding
their awesome beasts of war.
Lances shields and armor
shinning they adorn.
One thousand archers set
in an impregnable fort.
piercing careless soldiers
finding game to sport.
Ten thousand chariots gleaming,
ten thousand riders strong.
An army in an army,
so great alone the throng.
One million footmen ready,
with sword and shield and mail.
All ready for their death that day
or waiting to prevail.

One newborn babe, a precious boy
not a mighty man at all.
One God, One man, one Christ the lamb
stands more powerful than all.
