REMEMBER SUNDAY MORNING

remember who you once were

dressing up

wearing costumes

putting your money down a black hole

pretending to be happy

absorbing false doctrine

sending your children to little rooms

pretending to take notes

genuflecting at some wooden stake

REMEMBER WHO YOU WERE

pray for the lost

eating their little crackers and grape juice

pray for the lost

hiding in the shadows

of protesting the pope

remember who you were

and pray for those still stuck there.
